Okay, this is too much. I don't know why things like this are written, or who they could possibly be written for, but check out this headline:
Matt Damon says he fears a Palin administration
Let me tell you, I've been waiting two weeks to find out what Matt Damon thought about this. Okay, no I haven't, and I can't imagine anyone other than Matt who thinks this matters at all. Who cares what Matt Damon, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, or any actor or actress thinks about politics? I want to see them in movies, or TV, or singing, or whatever it is they actually get paid to do. I don't hear any politicians saying who they think should be cast in movies. I'm not even a fan of politicians, but give me a break. What could possibly make these people think anyone cares about their opinion? They may have some die-hard, obsessed fans ou there that care, but those people probably need some kind of therapy to begin with.
So to all the Hollywood celebrities......shut up. Nobody cares what you think about which politician should get elected. Do your interviews to promote your movies, albums, shows, or whatever it is you really do.
The bigger problem is people keep asking. Why? I don't see how any of this could come up in a normal interview....you don't ask the football coach about the baseball team, do you?

Enough!
I saw an interesting quote from, of all people, Barack Obama. He said “You know, this whole résumé contest is not what the American people are looking for,” he said. “I have to make it clear what is at stake in this election.”
Wow. At this point it would take some nerve to even say that, for either side. I think now there's someone else people are talking about, and he doesn't like not being the new guy getting all the attention. It was fine to focus on resumes three weeks ago when he was the only one who didn't have one, an no mistakes could be pointed out. Now he wants to make it clear what is at stake. Why didn't he want to do that for the last year? I haven't really heard him answer a question at all.....ever. "I don't think I should tip my hand".....that means you don't have a hand.
I think now he realizes there are two sides to every coin, (except those trick coins which are obviously what politicians use) and attacking someone for not having experience, when you yourself don't have any is ridiculous. I guess he thought nobody would notice, since he is never called out for any of his other nonsense. It's not even so much that I don't like Obama, how could you like or not like someone who has had no real effect on anything, and has no actual answers to questions. Let's be honest, watch someone ask him a question, listen to what he says, then rewind your TiVo back and listen to the question again....was it an actual answer....Nope. Like I said, it's not that I don't like him, but hasn't he been President for two years now? It sure seems like it, I'm tired of hearing about this guy.

Suprise, Suprise!
It must be a slow news day in politics. That, or these reporters are getting even lazier. Someone actually posted a story with the following headline, like it was news:

It's not that this is unbelievable headline, but it's just not suprising to anyone with any common sense. Now it doesn't really take a genius to figure out that Democrats aren't really going to like whoever Republicans nominate as their VP, and Republicans are going to like the choice for the most part.
I'm beginning to believe that the media thinks Americans are just as stupid as politicians think they are. I can't believe anyone would waste their resources on this kind of poll.
Most of these people are blind followers of the party they belong to anyway. At least, Obama had better hope they are, he didn't beat out Clinton by much, and without those votes, I don't think he can beat McCain. Anyway, it takes a few really stupid people to get a headline like that posted. First, whoever conducted the poll clearly didn't have anything better to do, then someone actually used it as a reference in a story, and finally I would assume these stories have to go through some kind of editor for approval. All that, and it still gets posted as a news headline? Who could this possibly be news to?
The longer this process takes, the more ridiculous everyone associated with it seems to get. Can't we all just vote now and get this over with? What will the news possibly consist of after that Tuesday in November? Could be something relevant, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

Politicians Average Americans?
The current salary (2008) for rank-and-file members of the House and Senate is $169,300 per year. I'm sure if you make that much, you're in touch with the average American. Hell, everyone I know made that much last Friday. Now, when Congress tells you their salaries aren't that high, let's remember they're getting paid just to vote, and this only includes their base salaries. If you think they're not getting more than that, well you need more help than I could possibly give you. Let's not forget all that time that Congress is "Not in Session". Which of course is entirely up to them, since they decided when they want to take a break. I guess if I voted on my own pay raises I would be rich too.
Anyway, Barack Obama specifically, or at least his office in the Senate paid in base salary alone between OCT 2007 and MAR 08 $1,291,782. To 60 people. That averages somewhere around $21,000 to the people who actually do the work. Let's be honest with ourselves here, if you had 60 assistants, how much work would you do yourself? What's that you say.....NONE. No shit, what are we paying these people for? Half the time they don't vote one way or the other even if they're present when votes happen. This isn't even a jab at Obama....Biden and MCCain are in the Senate too, their expenditures are probably the same.
So if you ask me, any of these idiots who claim to be "More in touch with the American People" don't live in the America we all live in outside those Government buildings. How many jobs do you know of where your only function is to say yes or no have 60 assistants? Don't feel bad, I can't think of any either. Makes you wonder whose opinions these people really vote with...theirs, one of 60 assistants, or the people who actually elected them. You know, Majority Rule and all that. Yeah right. Things like this really piss me off. Politicians wonder why so many people hate them. Most of them are lawyers on top of all this. The only thing that I wonder about is how you can be so against one of them, and not just as much against all the rest.

Okay, so I looked at the Fox News website and found all their headlines today. Now everyone knows people have good things and bad things to say about both of our Presidential candidates. For those of you who insist FOX is actually fair and balanced, take a look at these headlines:

In Defense of McCain
I've already pointed out some idiotic things that people say about Barack Obama, though it does seem to have died down of late. So, in the interest of fairness I thought I should take a look at John McCain. Now, the total right-wing idiots attack Obama for ridiculous things, some that even if they were true wouldn't really make a difference as far as Presidential ability. Oh, don't think it's not happening to McCain as well, here are a few things I found and what I think about them:
Suddenly, in September 2007, he's campaigning in South Carolina, the heavily Baptist state where George W. Bush barely managed to stop McCain's presidential campaign 8 years ago. And guess what? McCain tells a reporter "By the way, I'm not Episcopalian. I'm Baptist." When pressed, he said he's attended the North Phoenix Baptist Church in Arizona for more than 15 years, though he has never been baptized in that church. Now see, that's exactly the problem. Baptism is kind of a big thing in the Baptist Church. (That's how they got the name.) No baptism, not Baptist. - Now, I'm not religious genius, but I did go to a Baptist church when I was younger, and I never heard any mention of having to be baptized to attend the church. Now do you really think a Baptist church (or any other) would not let you in because you aren't a member of that church? WHich apparently McCain never claimed to be anyway, he said he attended, not that he was a member.
He's soft on immigration - Well, I happen to agree with this one, so I don't really have a defense for him.
He's too old - I agree he's old, but I haven't really seen a young politician at that level. When someone in their 40's is derided for being too young, what do you expect, spring chickens? Oh shit, too much experience! I'm pretty sure age discrimination is against the law---where the hell is the AARP on this one? They can send me car insurance offers in the mail when I'm barely past 30, why aren't they bitching about this? This seems kind of stupid to me. That guy from North Carolina Helms was so old didn't he fight for the Confederacy in the Civil War? Nobody mentioned anything about him.
He's too much like Bush. - He's a politician, all of them are at least a little like Bush. I remember when everyone was making a big deal about how much he didn't like Bush. I honestly believe he's been forced to play nice with him, but McCain doesn't care much for Bush himself.
He's out of touch with the American people: - Okay, this is really pushing it. Of course he's out of touch with the American people. But I'd have to say probably not as much as Obama here. He did spend 20 years in the Navy, and the military is full of people from middle and lower class backgrounds. I think people are making Obama's childhood out to be a little more difficult than it actually was. His poor mother, must not have been so poor after all, she met his father during college in Hawaii. I won't be sending my kids to college in Hawaii, will you? Either way, and whatever you think about both of their backgrounds, you can't bleieve that any politician is actually in touch with Americans. If you do, you are a member of both political parties' target demographics--idiots.

In Defense of Obama
People have plenty of good things to say about Barack Obama, and plenty of bad things too. I'm no fan of his, but some things being said about him are obviously ridiculous to reasonable people. I wonder if these people realize they're only making fools of themselves, on both sides of the argument.
First you have what I can only describe as total right wing nut-jobs grasping at anything possible in his background to discredit him. Then you have most of the media and Democrats defending everything he does. When did opinion become news?
He's a "secret Muslim" attempting to take over America for Al-Qaeda, or whatever. How ridiculous is that? There are over 500 people in Congress to override anything that dastardly he would try to do. And if he was a Muslim, so what? Not all Muslims are extremists, just like not all people who are against abortion bomb abortion clinics. what happened to religious freedom? Let's ask Mitt Romney. This is a two-edged sword that not only is stupid, but makes America look anti-Muslim instead of anti-Terrorism. This "secret Muslimness" is conveniently forgotten when Jeremiah Wright says something stupid, then he obviously is a follower of this Christian(?) idiot. Maybe he's secretly a Muslim too.
He lacks experience. Okay, this is probably true enough and I hate to beat a dead horse here, but both sides keep bringing it up, only when it's convenient for them. The Democrats don't really have a response, except to attack Palin. I think that makes them look stupid, don't they realize they are comparing the Senior member of their ticket to the Junior member of the other one? This tactic has obviously backfired for both sides.
He's black. I know, that's not a criticism, but unfortunately some people look at it that way. Most of these people won't publicly admit it, but you better believe they still exist. Anyway, people ignore his whiteness. And I'm not saying "he's not black enough" whatever that could possibly mean. I'm saying his mother was actually white.
