Like everyone else for the past week or so, everytime I turn on my television something about Vice Presidential selections has been on. I watched Obama pick Joe Biden, which to me seemed like a reasonable enough choice, if a bit contradictory to the famous "Change" message. I can't believe people still fall for that, that seems to have been the slogan for politicians for as long as I can remember. "Something's broken, I'll go be President and fix it." Obama likes to point out that McCain has been in Washington for over 20 years, but conveniently ignores the fact that his own selection for VP has spent more time in Washington than anywhere else.
Anyway, so I watch the news, and on all the channels they are saying that Biden is a good pick, he deflects criticism from Obama for having no foreign policy experience. These are the same people that totally ignored the fact that Obama (whether you like him or not) had no experience until they had some way to make up for that fact in their reporting.
All of this really wouldn't be that suprising to me or anyone else......until the introduction of Sarah Palin. Now why is experience an issue? Because it's not Barack Obama who doesn't have it, that's why. Admittedly, I don't think the lady has much experience, and I'd never heard of her until that selection was made. Now comes even more of the Obama hypocrisy. Ever heard of Tim Kaine? He was up for Obama's selection and his experience never was an issue, even though he had less experience than Palin. He wasn't selected, so that's kind of a moot point, but why did that never come up? Palin actually has more experience than Obama himself, I wonder when someone besides Fox News will admit that.
I'll get to Fox eventually, they clearly have their own slant, it just happens to be different from most others. In their defense, and this is a very small defense, they do let Alan Colmes have his say.
