I was reading today and I found what some people are making into a big issue about Sarah Palin, so I thought I'd give you my own thoughts on some of them:
First, she announced that her unmarried 17-year-old daughter, Bristol Palin, was pregnant. - OK, not exactly conforming to family ideals, but who really thinks their 17 year old daughter isn't having, or wanting to have sex?
—A private attorney is authorized to spend $95,000 of state money to defend her against accusations of abuse of power. - This sounds like it may have some effect on actual policy and should probably be checked into. Doesn't really sound authorized to me.
—Palin sought pork-barrel projects for her city and state, contrary to her reformist image. - Find me any politician who doesn't do this, and I'm sure we'll all vote them in as President right now.
—Her husband once belonged to a fringe political group in Alaska, with some members supporting secession from the United States. - Good thing her husband isn't running for office. I do however believe this could cause security issues. I know contractors aren't normally given a clearance when they have such a direct association to these groups.
—She has acknowledged smoking marijuana in the past. - Hopefully she had the good sense to say she "didn't inhale". Whatever that means. Takes some nerve for Clinton's Democrats to bring this up.
Those are just what I think are average thoughts about these things. I'm not looking for agreement or disagreement, just putting my 2 cents in
